Hi George, I only just saw your video clip that you posted on Facebook a while back checking out string pinsetters. I would love to have a talk to you if you have a few minutes spare. Please give me a call on 0407 292112. In the meantime, please have a look at my German made string pinsetter...

What is AMF doing to the game?

We have just made a video featuring our string pinsetters: Please check it out and it will show you exactly how it works and how simple and uncomplicated the machine is. I am not saying that all centers should change over to this system, but if the venue is struggling to keep afloat, they...

What is AMF doing to the game?

Hi HJD, Thanks for your feedback. Look, I did not mean anything bad when I said the comparison was silly. You really have to see and experience this system to fully understand it. Firstly, yes it is still mechanically. The pins are pulled up with a small motor into the locators and then the...

What is AMF doing to the game?

Hi AJD, there is very little difference in the pinfall or pin action. The strings are very lose and do not restrict the flying pin. If any pin hits the kickback, it bounces back just like any unattached pin. Like I said before, I don't think you could measure the restriction that the string...

What is AMF doing to the game?

I just received the news that string setters will be allowed as of January 2018. Apparently, a new category will be established for records etc, but the order of play will be the same. I have seen all of the many negative comments and realise that most of them are ill informed. The strings on...

Hi Docta, Saw your post regarding the fit out of a new centre. Is it possible for you to get me more details of this? Would be great to email this to me to: heinz@kegel.com.au Thanks in advance.

    STRING PINSETTER MACHINES?

Thanks Ryan for your comments and it is good to see that you enjoyed playing Kegel 9-pin in Coffs. I have been operating string-setters now for 10 years and never had a breakdown that required a mechanic. This machines are simple and indestructible; need very little maintenance and are very save...

    Anyone up for a challenge

Hi BigDaz, just only now saw your post; would have loved to have you join us. We had a great competition over the weekend of 7th and 8th of September, but unfortunately hardly any Ten-pinners. However, Jim Watts, a player from Coffs Harbour Holiday Tenpin lanes won the Men's section. Jim is...

    Anyone up for a challenge

Nearly all of the qualifying scores are in and this will close on Sunday the 1st of September at 4pm. If you still like to join, give me a call on 0407 292112 to book a time. I am very disappointed that no serious Tenpin bowler has registered. I have heard on the grapevine that some think that...

    24 balls ?

Gee, how simple our world is in Kegel 9-pin bowling. As long as the ball is 16cm in diameter, weighs 2.85kg and has two or no finger-holes, it is legal. The rest is solely up to the person that hangs on the end of it. This will show you who has skill.

Did his game improve or does he just have to much cash? I hope he has them colour coded!!!!

    Anyone up for a challenge

Just received the trophies for the 2013 Aussie Championship. Check them out. We have had a few Tenpin bowlers check us out, but none registered so far. Anyone that likes to see what it is, call in on any Wednesday evening during August from 5 to 9pm to the Coffs Coast Kegel Centre in Coffs...

    Anyone up for a challenge

We are holding the 2013 Australian Championship in Kegel 9-pin bowling at the Coffs Harbour centre on the 7th and 8th of September. Anyone can qualify during the month of August and there is no nomination fee. If you have never played Kegel 9-pin bowling, it is very similar as Tenpin, however...

    Why is Tenpin bowling declining?

You hit the nail on the head and I fully agree with your comments regarding the hi-tech balls. In my opinion, the game is getting corrupted by the development and use of such gear. Look at some other sports; take swimming as an example. Not so long ago all of the top swimmers used this highly...

    Why is Tenpin bowling declining?

Thanks Ash for your comment; you are right, the Golf analogy has been used many times, but I don’t think it should be compared with bowling. In Golf you have lots of different conditions as the course is so varied with many obstacles in the way. A totally different game, virtually impossible to...

    Why is Tenpin bowling declining?

Thanks BigDaz for this. The issues that you describe for your local centre is very wide spread. I don't know of any venue outside the cities that is doing any good and you only have to look at the other forum "Find a centre upates" in "Comments and Suggestions" to see what is currently...

    Why is Tenpin bowling declining?

Sorry Big Daz, this was not intended to have a shot at you, but can you guys see the problem and direction where the game is going? Roysa is right to ask; is it a game or a sport? I think the answer is both, definitely a sport to some, but it should never lose the attraction as a game to the...

    Why is Tenpin bowling declining?

Hi BigDaz, I am a bid disappointed that you call the 150 ave bowlers hacks. I don't know if you realise that they are the majority that bring the dollars into the centre and keep it going. They all pay top dollar per game, usually spend more on food and drink as the comp bowlers and most...

    Why is Tenpin bowling declining?

I notice that Tenpin bowling centres closing down all over the place. It has been the trend in the States for a number of years and Australia is now also on the slide. More centres have closed down during the last few years then new ones established. I would like to hear a few comments...

    Find a centre upates.

So, can anybody tell me why so many centres are closing down? There have to be reasons for this; high cost of rent, expensive upkeep of equipment, cost of mechanics or is it lack of interest by the public? I remember the sixties and seventees, new Tenpin centres popped up everywhere.

    Kegel Bowling

Thanks Ash for your kind words. I posted this about a month ago and I am very supprised that nobody has taken up my invitation. There are now three centres around Australia where you can play Kegel, the original one in Coffs Harbour, a small 4 lane centre in Melbourne at the Matthew Flinders...

    Kegel Bowling

An invitation to everyone; if you happen to come through Coffs Harbour, give me a call on 0407 292112 and have a free game of Kegel 9-pin bowling. You will find that it is fun and very difficuly; strikes are very hard to get. I would like to get an opinion from some of you top bowlers. I even go...
