    Bowling and Aging

Thanks for sharing this information Dr. Chris. I also found it very interesting. I for one would be more inclined to believe the findings of a 'Researched' paper than the overly inflated opinions of the minority. Cheers, Shane.

Why are the state sports tournament series so successful?

I agree with with many of the reasons above; - Value for money - Challenging conditions from normal House Shot - An opportunity to bowl with better bowlers - A good stepping stone to ranked tournaments The last Sport Series in Victoria also had an added incentive; the chance to get your...

Side pin shooting, is it better to use a plastic or regular

I'm not an elite bowler (by any stretch of the imagination), but I use the same technique - plastic ball for practically all spares. It reduces most variables, and another advantage is that I'm not forking out good money replacing my strike balls as often.

EBONITE SPORTS SERIES - EVENT 3

Well said Frank, I totally agree. I have only bowled a hand full of tournaments, however the Ebonite Sports Series has given me the opportunity to bowl with some talented blowers, and in some challenging conditions. More importantly the cost to enter is not exorbitant. Thank you Ebonite and...

    Sale Bowl Closing Yes No

Location, location, location...:theCabin: In my opinion, this was one of the biggest down falls with Sale. There was talk about relocating the bowl closer to the Sale CBD back when I bowled there (over 10 years ago). Glad to see it's about to happen. A highway location would be ideal!!!

    Time To Start Bowling Again

Welcome Allan :D I can relate, as I returned to bowling a couple of years ago after 10 years off. It's scary how much things change over that time (balls and equipment). The good thing is that you may average higher than before. I have spoken to a few people who have taken long breaks...

Congratulations to all that participated at Emerson this year. The event was played in great spirit, which made for an enjoyable weekend. Congratulations to all of the place getters, especially Cassie and Tonx for topping the All Stars. Finally, thanks to the staff of Geelong Bowl for...

What sort of bowling shoes do you have?

I would love to get a pair of Dexter SST6 LX, but I can't justify it. My old Dexter SST4's aren't showing any signs of wear. Maybe I should leave them outside for my Labrador to inspect...;)

    SECRETS TO BOWLING A 300

Thank you for your advice guys. Although there are some diverse opinions, I think the main consensus is to trust my shot. With a little luck and more practice - who knows... Cheers, Shane.

    SECRETS TO BOWLING A 300

Tonight I bowled my highest game (298). This is the second time that I have been bowling for that elusive 300 game without success. Prior to my first time I was given some advice to move a couple of boards to the right (I'm a lefty) to allow for tightness. This resulted in a not so happy...
