    Toon's Totalbowling Rant

You are right John, but we could make it so much more. When I started bowling this forum was going off. It's all good. I would just like it to return to to how informative and busy it used to be. I am simply encouraging others to post more threads, reviews and opinions and keep this forum...

Help with PAP / New Drillings

Run into a slight problem. My only 2 balls I kept before I stopped bowling for a while have been lost in transit. I have ordered a whole new arsenal which arrives tomorrow. New ball driller has my old specs from previous driller but no PAP was recorded. Is there any way to fix this, other...

    Toon's Totalbowling Rant

Firstly, not having a go at anyone in particular and I am very thankful for this site. Secondly, I am talking about myself aswell in my little rant. However, I have been quite disappointed with how this site has gone in the past few years. Nothing to do with the Administrators or King Jase...

Aussie bowlers in Hong Kong for 22nd Asian Championships

Well said Sammy. Not going to make any negative comments about the above, but to add to what Sam has said. I have bowled against Brendan Meads a long time before he reached the level he has reached now. He used to bowl in every tournament he could against bowlers that at the time were a lot...

What Bowling rituals do you have

Not that wierd. Rituals, particularly on or prior to getting on the approach promote consistency and concentration. Doing things like wiping my shoe, blowing in the hole, wiping the ball helps me slow down and stops me from rushing my shots.

Why is inflation hitting bowling so hard?

I don't see $500,000 being mentioned once in the post Mr Chester. I think he meant it was $50,000 extra not $5,000. But kudos on your 1st class trolling. A lot of people are looking at the negative side of this too much. Memberships are not losing money for centres. If you charge $5.50 for a...

Why is inflation hitting bowling so hard?

Can anyone suggest a reason behind why Bowling Alleys have never implemented the Membership system? I know a few centres have. I re-call Strike Illawarra offering it to youth bowlers if my memory serves me right. They had something like 9 game limit of practice per day and could only bowl when...

Does something need to be developed to separate the League Bowler from the Tournament Bowler?

Theres quite a big difference between walking in and throwing 220 in a 3-4 game league and throwing it over a 20+ game weekend. This is my point though. This "difference" is only known to Tournament bowlers. To everyone else, it's the same thing and that's why Tenpin is losing it's credibility...

Does something need to be developed to separate the League Bowler from the Tournament Bowler?

You are right John, but in my eyes, and of course this is just one mans opinion. For bowling to be regarded and respected as a sport, there needs to be a distinction between the average Joe and your George Frilingos, Carl Bottomly etc. At the moment, when you have the best bowlers in the...

Does something need to be developed to separate the League Bowler from the Tournament Bowler?

I have had a realisation. I'd like to hear some opinions whether they be positive or negative. This is my realisation. Bowling is trying to cater for too many people. All the lane conditons, new balls, bits and pieces to make your game better ( gloves, wrist supports, inserts) are all aimed...

Hey folks, Just moved to our new house in the Cascades from sunny old Darwin, and am looking to bowl at Bowland while we get settled, then I might venture out and check some other centres out. Anyone here bowl there? Thoughts?Good? Bad? Need a bowler?

    294, not easy to do

God damn Tommy Jones has a beautiful shot. Anywho, I've seen worse. When I was in Bris I saw a cranker stuff his release and the ball went straight for the 10 pin for a 291.
