How important is a Urethane Ball in your Arsenal?

My last 2 300 games were with urethane, Burgundy Hammer at Wodonga skins for when they're torched at the end of the day and Purple Hammer at Mildura Marathon in game 2 while i still have head oil and not much carry down. Both are drilled axis weight and are very smooth and predictable, l'll use...

Best Low Hook Balls for Lanes with Little Oil????

I've had axis weighted gear (pin on pap) since around the time the original blue Hammer came out, this works extremely well on the light oil but you'll still cover plenty of boards if you don't polish them up. I also did the same to a Virtual Gravity and this gets heaps of length over my more...

    Tournament nominations

Credit where credit is due, well said. The only event I'm aware of that fills most squads is Qld Open and deposits are paid by most, however many other events don't fill so paying a deposit isn't as crucial. Unfortunately l can't see enforcing deposits as the answer simply due to the fact that...

Why is inflation hitting bowling so hard?

We get 4 for $15 at the AMF centres in Melbourne at the moment and most of us consider that to be pretty good. I remember $2 games at Ringwood many years ago but l also remember petrol at 68 cents a litre. Can't say l wouldn't like it to be cheaper but what do you do?

    Bowling & burning calories

Can't complain about that, lol. As Jim said, check out the thread on "How far is a game", so many aspects to peoples games it's hard to get a true reading. Get a good heart rate monitor and you could possibly get a calorie burn figure you could share with us.

    Ranking System - Tournament Bowlers

Now that's an idea with merit, top ten on rankings get into Masters. Points would certainly mean something then.

    Ranking System - Tournament Bowlers

I think Mick is spot on, it's not really the way the rankings system works, it's the fact that not enough people bowl all the events. Trying to find the perfect system when many people don't bowl all the events would be near impossible.

    Ranking System - Tournament Bowlers

I don't agree with a system that drops your worst event, all results should stand, if you have a bad event so be it.

    Ranking System - Tournament Bowlers

Do you think that the points system could have an average of points to amount of events with a min number of events. So if someone bowls 8 events with mostly 5-10th finish positions would possibly have more points than someone that say bowled 5 events but finished top 5 every time? The points...
