This is part of the problem. Eastern seaboard cities have had the nationals for so long, that (Sydneysiders especially) don't want to have to travel (awww diddums!) and, largely, don't feel they should have to. Look at Townsville! End rant

Would be nice if somewhere other than the eastern seaboard could put up a decent tender. A lot of people sick of going to Sydney all the time. Decidedly unfair to the West Australians etc who have to shell out huge travel expenses each year. Something needs to be done in order to equalize...

On a new lane surface 4:1 can be extremely generous, especially if the majority of the pattern is laid in the forward run of the machine. This loads up the midlane with a heavy load of buffed oil in the middle which opens up the shot in a big way.
