    New Bowling Ball Discussion

My signature says enough about that LOL. Lovey, since I quit (finally) my blood pressure has never been better haha! Much prefer supporting my son's burgeoning career these days. And he is a righty as well, so at least he will get credit for his achievements LOL

Terry, I'll go lightly on you here... I have been bowling seniors tournaments for 5 years. I've won 2 Senior Australian Opens, 2 Black and White Classics and runner - up in hte Hammer (all in Qld!) and won medals in Asian Zone Seniors competition. What makes YOU an expert?

    New Bowling Ball Discussion

It has been a while. And it will be a while longer. My game has taken a back seat now to Jays career. MIght make a comeback at some stage, but not in the near future. Good luck with the tournament

    New Bowling Ball Discussion

Terry, let's face it, most seniors tournament patterns are more like playing off the ladies tees at your local pitch and putt course. Now, if you are playing on the US Open pattern when it is fresh, well, that's a very different story

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

Look at the averages thrown by C, D and E grade juniors at the Junior nationals the last 3 years. Nearly all of them are 25 to 40 pins below their entering averages. Now surely its not all nerves. The only variable is the lane conditions. Look too at the numbers shot by Classic, A and B...

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

I remember further back than that, when tournament promoters (yes even the ATBC) would mail out entry forms for every tournament that was upcoming, often 6 months in advance. It seems that most now have taken the cheap way out and just posted them on the net, be it here, the TBA site or on...

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

Yes peter, I am! And yes Peter they do. At least to the extent that they know what they can score on and what they can't. Especially when bowling on 24+ ml of oil compered to the 16 they normally bowl on The only place it was "advertised" was on the TBA website, and only then if you went...

    NOW THERES A SHOCK

Part of the reason the lower grades are not turning up to the nationals is the tougher lane conditions of the last few years. Lower grade bowlers have told me they don't want to spend heaps of money to go to Sydney and shoot 30 pins per game below average. This has been even more evident at...

    Radical Guru vs. Well... Everybody!

I think they were comparing like for like in terms of length. Hypercell probably compares length wise more to the Reax

Officially approve and sanction Glenn Allison's 900 series of July 1, 1982.

Reading the response from the USBC, it appears the main stumbling block (not that they actually said this) to sanctioning Glenn's 900 is the raft of other honour score applications that would arise from that period. The article states that about 8% of honour scores were disallowed at the time...

    Radical Guru vs. Well... Everybody!

This is probably the first true comparison video I have seen. It would be even better if the USBC were to use their facilities to do a full comparison between all the manufacturers at each performance level at different rev rates, speeds, tilts and lane conditions.

Why is everyone so depressingly agreeable?

In SA, the local TBA runs and attends EVERY tournament (except SA Seniors Classic) that is run in SA, from Junior Intercentre, through Junior Youth Circuit, Adult Circuit, State championships and nationally ranked events being the SA Youth Masters and SA Cup. so there is no issue with TBA's...

    Best year you've ever had

That was a great week for sure. But for a whole year, can't go past 2000. Funnily enough I would have pulled out of the Manhattan SuperClassic in 99 if I hadn't already booked the flights cos I was bowling really badly and didn't think I would make the cut. Funny how those types of things...
